This novel is Murakami's fiction at its finest - after decades of writing, his novels are constructed with such mastery that I physically cannot ignore his releases. This novel feels wistful, and Murakami's age is apparent without in any way detracting from the reading experience. Having also read Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, this novel is a fantastic companion, yet despite being more simplified, is executed far better, and is much more digestible. I can't wait to see what else Murakami releases in the future.
