I could write paragraphs on this but the biggest takeaway was something the author says at the end. Something to the effect of (paraphrasing) “we will always keep searching but in the end we will never discover the mystery of the universe because we ourselves are a part of that mystery.”
And that really hit me. Because as in-depth as this got to the the inner working of each sulci and gyri of the brain; zoomed out to the culture of people and their brains - we are just as intertwined to the universe as the universe is with us. And our natural curiosity will always push us to keep asking questions and searching but we are a part of it.
Absolutely mind-bendingly fascinating.
