The Silver Locket by Marie Fostino
5.0
I just finished reading The Silver Locket. It is a Young Adult Romance novel written by Marie Fostino. A young girl moves to a new town when her father gets a job opportunity. She finds it hard to fit into her new school until she meets some other people who are misfits like her. She falls victim to peer pressure and finds herself in over her head.
I really loved this book. I loved the story line itself because it was so beautiful. I also loved the message it sends to teenagers out there. I feel this was a very emotionally packed story. It moved you in ways you can’t even imagine. It not only hit the truth of the issue at hand head on, but it also gave all points of view on the situation in a clear light. I literally felt for many of the characters involved in the story.
I personally feel that this story may have been better off in first person. I think it would have been okay to switch off points of view throughout the story. It worked perfectly in third person too though. So I can’t really complain too heavily on this. I just personally feel that it would have been better off in first person. This doesn’t mean that my point of view is correct or incorrect. It’s just an opinion.
I fully recommend this to all teenagers and young adults. I also fully recommend this to all parents out there. I will even go as far as to recommend that people planning to be parents should read this book. I feel it’s a dramatically packed book, but I also feel it has a very important message inside it. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to read this book!
