Meet Julie is about a young girl whose parents are getting a divorce and her dad is hardly around anymore. She and her older sister move in with her mother, while her dad stays in the same house they’ve lived in for a long time. Julie has to start a new school without her best friend, and she’s finding it hard to adjust to her new life.

She decides to try out for the boys basketball team since there isn’t one for girls, but the coach says she can’t be on the team because she’s a girl. Julie knows that’s not right, and she will do everything she can to try get him to change his mind.

This book was a really great addition to the American Girl collection. I love Julie’s story, and how she went through so much, but still held strong. This wasn’t just about one issue for her, it was about a lot of different issues, and I adored that.

The whole plot line was great, and all of the characters were wonderful as well! I can’t wait to read more about Julie!
