A Cage of Crimson by K.F. Breene

1.0

This was atrocious. No character development, the same repetitive thoughts and actions over and over and over again. Aurelia is supposed to be 27!!!!! Yet the amount of immaturity and ignorance she exhibits are the same of a pre-teen. I mean, sure trauma, it sets you back, but after discovering everything that’s been done to you, besides the obvious, for sure you’d reconsider your outlook, right?

Nah, bruh, she’s ready to throw it away at the first opportunity. She never listens to reason, has no analytical or self-preservation skills. The dialogue is the same as the fan-fics I tried to write when I was 11. Even the smut was yucky.

Not to mention that the story, character-driven as it is, did not move forward the whole time. The plot began at around 50% while I’d thought I was in the first 40 pages. Then it’s bad kindergarten humour and bullshit until the end of the book.

I cannot fathom the high reviews this book got.
