Exposed by Kristen Callihan
4.0
*4.5 stars
It has felt like forever since we last got a new book by Kristen Callihan and now we finally got one! "Exposed" has been a highly anticipated story that's been building up for several books now, and I can with 100% certainty say that the wait was worth it.
So drop whatever you are reading and dive right into this story that serves an excellent angsty and emotional rollercoaster with my favourite fictional band in the world, you will not regret it!
I love the members of Kill John and their found-family so so much and seeing the former couples being all lovey-dovey together do never fail to put a smile on my face. It is incredible how well-written Callihan's books are, 'cause sometimes I seem to forget that these aren't real persons we are talking about. Even though I for sure would like them to be.
Back to our main couple, Rye and Brenna, who has had a looong build-up and a sexual tension clouding them whenever they are near each other. When they finally get together there are some hothothot scenes, no surprise there considering the chemistry they have, but they also appear in a different, more insecure light together due to their history and fighting over the years. It was long overdue to finally get a glimpse behind the masks they both wear and I can't say more than that I love them to death. I mean, Ryland really knows Brenna, like he knows her perfumes depend on her mood and he reads her after that. He is a big softie (even though he didn't really understand the impact their earlier fighting had on her) and I loved finally getting to know both him and Brenna.
Kristen Callihan is my to-go-to author whenever I want a book that just makes me insanely happy, and this is definitely up on that list along her other books. RyeBrenna really served as an amazing love story full of emotions and I cannot believe here we are again waiting for the next book... Also, I might be the most excited for Whip's book because that man is a complete mystery so far and I have a tiny, tiny hope that his love interest will be Jules. But I will have to wait and see! Meanwhile, I will be over here re-rereading the previous books and wishing they were all real.
A big thank you to Valentine PR for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
