While this novella could technically be read at any time, I would suggest reading it after the first book. But in all honesty it’s not necessary at all to read. I do appreciate that this is free to access on the authors website.
It seems like only the first part is available right now and I’m not sure if she is still planning on releasing more part but I was hoping to see some more of the background of the Ryvenai rebellion, the events of the war, and when Max takes in Reshaye. The series and the novella never say why there is a rebellion in the first place and why the Farilone’s weren’t apart of it. I feel like if you are going to do a novella, that would actually make the information in it worth while.
