Warrior's Mate by Emma Alisyn

1 Star (skimmed to finish)

Bratty, stubborn and childish thirty year old heroine. Hero seemed likeable enough early on but the longer I read the more I realized he was also a big man child despite being a century old or something. In comparison to the heroine I loved the hero.

Both were stupid. Gayle needed a handler and Ithann was that for her. And despite her feelings she seemed to hate him too. I didn't understand it. I might understand wanting to find your place in the world but the way she went about it was stupid many of the times she attempted it. She really was TSTL. Ithann called her a child many times but she deserved it. She acted out, nearly threw tantrums. Provoked fights verbal and physical between them. Was ungrateful when he saved her ass when her escape plan backfired because of her father. She showed signs of common sense maybe twice in the whole book and one sign of personal growth when she outright claimed she knew she was acting childish but that's the last we saw of it.

Half the book her life was in danger and when told she'd be sticking to the hero's side she thought "not if I have anything to say about it" and then once on his planet proceeds to gat about "exploring" and trying to find herself while his brother and mother both shrugged like oh no big deal danger is always there. Whatever morons.

But then both had the nerve to act like two teenager lovers in a snit because they couldn't figure out how to communicate. My god.

This book was awful. Well, the heroine was awful and the hero deteriorated as the story progressed. I blame the heroine.

Skimmed to finish from 40% on because I'm trash and just love to torture myself and waste my time.
