I LOVE a book full of Ancient Egyptian mystery, and The Stolen Queen delivered! It was such a fun read, about a missing artifact and a legendary curse, full of adventure. It’s also a story of longing, heartbreak and fate. The dual timelines alternating between 1936 and 1978 made things super dynamic! The past and present woven together seamlessly created a rich, layered story with two such strong female protagonists in Charlotte and Annie, who are both remarkable in their own ways.

I also enjoyed how the Valley of the Kings and Cairo came to life through the detailed depictions of archaeology and behind-the-scenes museum work, and couldn't resist searching some of the facts as I read, which made the experience even more exciting. The author's note at the end explains the inspiration behind the story, and now I’m excited to dive into some of the suggested books to learn more about the fascinating "female pharaoh". It had just the right amount of historical elements you’d expect in a great historical fiction and the combination of historical details with the glamour of the Met Gala was a unique touch. It balanced the old world with the new in a way that felt so perfect.  Definitely worth the read!
