The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros

4.0

But maybe it's really the possibilities that are easy to fall in love with. Looking at any situation, any relationship, any story, and having the sublime ability to wonder where it will take is a bit intoxicating, really. There's a rush every time I load a blank sheet of paper. Like a first kiss from a first love.

This is two will-they-or-won't-they love stories for the price. In the present, heartbroken divorcee Georgia finds herself definitely NOT falling for the hot writer tasked with taking over her dead great-grandmother's semi-autobiographical final novel. In the past, in the middle of WWII, Scarlett is equally NOT falling for the daredevil pilot Jameson that risks his life and their love each day.

While I appreciated Georgia and Noah's plot line, I was completely enamored with Scarlett and Jameson. Honestly, I felt like Georgia's dragged on a bit and I just couldn't wait to get back to Scarlett. Other than that, I thought this was a rare TikTok recommendation - one that's actually good. The romance was heartbreaking and deliciously gooey, and the twist was (to me anyway) genuinely shocking. I adored this book. Thanks to my cousin Stef for the recommendation!
