While it took me a minute to get through it, this book is incredible. I appreciate the expertly crafted and comprehensive world-building. Robinson really thought of everything. I also love how this book is polyphonic, making the reading experience even richer and more nuanced. My favorite chapters were the "I am a" passages that were sprinkled in periodically; they were fun riddles that still furthered the plot and/or general context. At times, the messaging felt a bit preachy, but considering how high the stakes are in saving the world from ecological catastrophe, it would be really hard not to be. This is definitely one of my new favorites.
