Ahh what a mind-blowing sequel and a great first read of 2025. Compared to the first book, which lost me at times, this book was even more exciting with the way all the different moving parts connected and fitted together across time and space.

It was paced so well that I didn’t want to put it down, yet I also wanted to read it slowly and carefully, to ensure I understood and savoured all the details.

Sharing some of my favourite quotes from this book:

”The wait for the world to tell you that you're special can be a long and lonely one. Better to get off your arse and let it know that you are.”

”Many poisons taste sweet. Much that is deadly proves pleasing to the eye. … Wisdom is difficult to write down, harder to find amid the ocean of the unwise, and, when found, next to impossible to learn from a page. The wisdom to use knowledge must be earned rather than given. That takes time. Lifetimes. Millennia. Knowledge without wisdom is fire in the hands of children.”

”One of the worst things about humans is everything. But I'll tell you what's ten times worse than a human ... two humans. And what's ten times worse than two humans? You've guessed it: one child.”
