This book is well-known and revered for a good reason. It is objectively very moving and incredible well-written. But wow, it is BRUTAL to get through. Very disturbing and difficult subject matter. At times, it felt like too much. Despite that, I would still recommend it as a very good exploration of race, beauty standards, and poverty. Amazing book, but be prepared for a rough experience.
