Great novella/short story. Its told from the perspective of a security bot that part biological. It has hacked its "governor" module and is in some sense "rogue". However, Murderbot, as it refers to itself, is fine with carrying out its assigned tasks while watching TV whenever it can. The perspective from Murderbot is very interesting, especially since it is socially awkward around humans, even though it is very interested in humans because of the shows that it watches.

The story is nice, about a planetary survey mission gone awry, with Murderbot taking much more effort that it is used to protect the scientists under its charge. Despite itself, Murderbot finds itself becoming friends with the humans.

I am trying to avoid giving 5 stars, but I wholeheartedly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to a lot of different people.
