I think what disappointed me the most about this book was the fact that I thought it was gonna be about all four of them but we barely got any scenes with Scarlett and Julian which completely broke my heart. I know she has talked about doing other holiday novellas especially for Eva and Jacks (yes please! I want more EvaJacks right now!) but I really hope she does one for Scarlett and Julian because they deserve more page time!
This whole novella is all about Tella being unsure if Legend loved her which I honestly just found ridiculous. Legend, the man obsessed with power, literally gave up immorality for her and I highly doubt he would have done that if he wast 1000% sure he loved Tella.
This novella wasn't very long to begin with and I still felt like it was a little too long.
Honestly, this book just reminded me that I'm not the biggest fan of Tella. Tella has always just felt very self-centered to me and this book did not disprove that to me (I mean come on, asking to have the date of a holiday changed just because you can't find a gift for your partner.) Also, Tella making out with her captor while in a relationship, I know it was technically Legend but she didn't know that yet.
Overall, do I think that you need to read this right away? No, I don't feel like it really adds anything to the Caraval world but I do think it was a cute little Christmas read and is a great edition to my Caraval collection especially with how cute the cover and illustrations are.
