Paint, Guns, Money, and Love by Mell Eight

3.5 Stars

I've only recently discovered Mell Eight as an author but so far I've enjoyed her writing style. This was no different. I still really enjoy the quality of her writing. But this wasn't one of my favorites of her stories. So far I prefer her fantasy novels.

This story is a little on the sweet side for a mafia story, but a little on the darker side for a sweet and sappy story. It does play with the idea of the mafia man at work and at home, but somehow I left questioning the validity of things. Nick was a little too accepting of things at times, and his backstory never quite made as much sense as I would have liked.

But I did like Nick and Lucy together. They were very cute and their initial meeting was very adorable. The mafia side of Lucy never felt as complete as his gay side. Still this was an enjoyable read and was worth the read.
