What It's About:
The truth about the wards is finally out in the world, but Violet, Xaden and their friends now have an even bigger secret to hide. With nothing but the clues left behind by Violet's father, the Iron Squad must come together on a quest to find an army, the irids and a cure. Meanwhile, the venin march ever-closer to the wards, stealing not only lives but also souls.

General Thoughts:
And we're back to 5 stars for the epic ride that was Onyx Storm. There was world-building, new characters to love, old ones to hate, and another cliffhanger that made me want to throw myself off a cliff. I loved every minute, even when I hated what was happening. Things became a touch confusing when everyone started getting referred to by their last names when they've not really been used in the first couple of books - more realistic for the setting, but could use a reference guide lmao.

What I Enjoyed:
The world-building was perfection for me. The islands and the reveals that happened at each were *chefs kiss*. Andarna's snark slayed me and was just so ~teenager~ that I couldn't help but giggle. The high stakes actually felt it, since rather than there being a quick and easy solution to everything, shit just got more and more hopeless. Xaden "you're literally my soul" Riorson became a Professor and I may have died a little?? The character growth from literally everyone. The multi-POV final chapters. Tairn and Violet. Aaric "you didn't ask" Greycastle. Ridoc. The hints dropped throughout the book that had me sitting up and paying attention and INVESTED. Quest Squad is literally my vibe and did not disappoint. Violet and Xaden being back at their best.

What I Struggled With:
The fucking ending and the fact that there's not even a projected date for the next book.

"What did you do?"
"What you asked me to."

Put it on my tombstone.
