The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton
5.0
Somehow even better than the first book in this series, which was in my top ten for 2021, India Holton stands truly alone in the field. The League of Gentlewoman Witches is whimsical, witty, and warm, by turns sexy and funny (sometimes in the same sentence), and absolutely full to the brim with adventure. Charlotte is phenomenal heroine, the perfect balance of feisty and proper, and Alex is an ideal adversary. Holton twists the traditional enemies to lovers arc by making Alex and Charlotte almost immediately allies, so that while they insist that they hate each other its clear to everyone else that they are together. Throw in a take down of ridiculous society manners, add the always nefarious Lady Armitage, and sprinkle a lot of cameos from beloved Wisteria Society characters, and its clear why this series is one I cannot and will not stop talking about. I'm already excited for book 3!
