My Policeman by Bethan Roberts

holyfuckingshit
So this was good, I devoured it within a few days and it reads very easily. The 1950s Brighton setting is vivid and I could easily immerse myself into the story. However, I’m super angry at Marion for how she handled her confession at the end. Obviously what she did was horribly wrong but the least she could do was confess to Tom and Patrick in person instead of running away.
Patrick deserves so so so much better, his pov was so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. (In an alternative universe they just never left Venice and grew old together there).
Now I’m off to watch the movie and hope I’m not gonna be disappointed.
