What can I say? I love a good academyc rivals-to lovers in a winter fairytale world but made it cozy but not so much that its boring or repetitive. Have as a protagonist a neurodivergent akward person that becames a beloved hero by the end and you have me.
No, I'm not proyecting!
I dont even know what to say, I loved everything about this book. The ambiance, the characters, the folklore. It was sooooo good.
I loved Emily so much. Her unusual habits and lack of tact made her special for me. But what I really admired about her was the way that she could use her knowledge and undesrtanding of the world to keep herself safe (remember, there are feral fairies in this world) without suddenly becoming a badass warrior or something like that.
Her dynamic with Wendell was also so fun! It was beliavable why they wouldnt like each other very muchat first, but you also could see how similar they were and it was really cute watching them realize it for themselves.
