Tarzan on the Planet of the Apes by Tim Seeley, David M. Walker

2.0

via NYPL - The art's quite strong. The script - I'll freely admit that I thought the high concept sounded too intriguing to completely ignore, but I know almost nothing about the mythology of either franchise (I've seen only the original and Burton Apes films; have read only a small handful of Tarzan team-up comics) so the reveal of Character X or Concept Y had no impact on or appeal for me. (I recognize enough names to grasp when I'm supposed to react, but had no frame to actually feel like it mattered.) So I was looking for a silly high concept romp, while the creators wanted to play with the greater universes available to them. So this missed hard for me. I couldn't even finish it (got through about 60% though). But maybe it's your thing.
