the first half or so of this book was extremely slow paced for me, which eventually hindered my reading experience and enjoyment for me, the second half did pick up and get a bit more exciting. there were definitely some nice bits in this story and i kind of do get why lots of readers love this book (and trilogy), i don't know if i'll pick up book two anytime soon though...
