Crip Kinship: The Disability Justice & Art Activism of Sins Invalid by Shayda Kafai

emotional informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

📚 Review: This book was like a love letter to Sins Invalid, and was a great look at their creators and the communities they’re in, as well as their impact. It also included great examples of doing disability justice. I do feel that the language was heavily academic, verging on inaccessible, as it was adapted from a thesis, which might take away from some content and make it inaccessible to some. Definitely not an entry level text as it’s heavy on the discourse. It also felt slightly repetitive within itself, and within other books I’ve read. I did still love this and think it is important, and would recommend if you’re looking to learn more about disability justice.
