My goodness, this book has it all. Heart racing, fast paced plot development. A diverse cast of characters that come completely to life on the page. Descriptions and dialogue that are so well done, it was like a movie playing in my head. And a simply unforgettable story.

In ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€, a Black father and a White father unite on a quest for revenge after their sons, who were married to each other, are murdered. Ike and Buddy Lee are ex cons and more than willing to use old skills and contacts on their mission. So, yes, this is a thriller, a page turning whodunnit and a gripping, violent story of vengeance.

But itโ€™s more than that. Ike and Buddy Lee arenโ€™t just mourning fathers seeking justice. Theyโ€™re both coping with the regret of not accepting their gay sons and showing them unconditional love when they had the chance. Their remorse as they confront their homophobia is what makes this book so unforgettable, more thought provoking and emotional than a typical redemption story. This is a masterful crime noir and literary fiction blend.
