Sweet Like Whiskey by Emmy Sanders

5.0

This book was absolutely perfect. Jackson Darling and Ashley Alcott are one of the cutest couples I've read in a while. Both characters have such unique and complimentary personalities, and the love that grew between them was so goddamn sweet. Jackson is the most gruff, grumbling romantic ever, and Ash was always ready to take his attitude on with a good-natured smirk. I loved how there was a little bit of ex drama, but nothing disruptive, and a pretty significant moment of peril that deepened feelings and tested the strength of their relationship(rock solid, btw). Jack's parents and brothers were delightful, the ranchers were delightful, Ash's bestie was delightful, and the rather large cast of animals featured in the book were also delightful! The writing was warm and made me tear up a few times, and even though I'm not really a big fan of cowboy books, Emmy Sanders hasn't done me wrong yet, so I put in my trust that I would love it, and of course I was not disappointed at all.
