Pardon me. I am reminded of why I should read reviews before picking up books from time to time. But I've watched the author come up on my YouTube shorts often and the discreet covers also piqued my interest. So I gave it a shot.
The writing isn't bad. The execution, however, terrible. There was a good build of suspense in the beginning, and I was hoping for a darker dive into the psychological side of things but I feel like there was so much talking about Ella and her past... yet we found out nothing. I thought things might have been a little more sinister.
And I refuse to believe a high class security firm wouldn't immediately take action the second they discovered their security camera footage was having gaps in recordings. ESPECIALLY for a high profile and vulnerable client. A shame. But I might look in towards her more lighter themed books instead.
