The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine

2.0

A book that begins very slow-paced with little urgency in it's writing despite it being a "murder mystery". The plot barely focuses on the actual fact that a killer was on the loose and a majority of the book is mostly peacocking rich, upperclass women meandering over trivial matters and old drama. Very cliquey and high-school in the tone. Although I acknowledge that the murderer turned out to be someone I didn't expect (because the character was deeply undeveloped), the other instances of forced intrigue were fairly predictable and the book soon became to chaotic and ridiculous during the climax which ultimately occurred in the last 50 pages or so of the book. Ultimately the end was not the best and the dramatic reveals were underwhelming at best due to my lack of interest in the plot or the characters. I honestly had to force myself to finish it today after days of not picking it up due to my deep dislike of the narrative.
