Utter shit. This book was so poorly written it's amazing George RR Martin ever managed a second. The far-future premise isn't too bad, a wandering planet which wanders near a constellation of stars, but the main character is such an unlikeable bastard you can't but hope he gets killed right from the start. He doesn't or there wouldn't be much of a story. Luckily, Martin went on to write much better stories than this. Chalk this one up as a learning experience.
