I almost DNF'd this book three different times. But it felt so cozy, and I wanted it to get better, so I kept convincing myself to stick with it. And I actually wanted to know how it would end.

My biggest problem was Charlie. His constant attacks on Gretchen's character were repetitive and annoying. In fact, Charlie was downright grating for 70% of the book. I understand being a skeptic, but with the overwhelming proof she wasn't lying and his life being on the line, he was a complete ass to her. She stayed and endured it because she honestly didn't want to see him hurt. She was too good for him. By the end, he was tolerable at best.

My favorite part was the farm and Everitt. I loved his relationship with Gretchen and the pop culture references.
