The Prince by Sylvain Reynard

4.0

This novella acts as a bridge between author Sylvain Reynard’s Gabriel series and the new Florentine series. I’m already invested in the Machiavellian players (Aoibhe is shifty; I don’t trust her). Gabriel and Julianne are secondary characters and serve an important purpose, but I find myself more interested in how William, the vampyre Prince of Florence, can walk on holy ground. The most intriguing scene in the novella takes place in a church, where William addresses the mural of a man he calls “Brother.” In life, was the Prince a priest?
