Wish for Me by A. Star, Diantha Jones

4.0

When I read the synopsis for Wish For Me, I was definitely intrigued. I've always been fascinated by djinn, and very rarely do I read stories about them. I will admit I'm not a huge fan of steampunk, but after finishing the story, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

Glory, the main character, is a bit sarcastic, but likeable. She's your typical college-age young woman...until she finds a very strange vase. Upon opening said vase, she releases a genie named Irving. And that's when things get crazy.

Irving isn't exactly a very nice guy at first. And by nice, I mean he finds Glory to be a pain in the ass, and he tends to be both attracted to her and frustrated by her.

Pros: Unique plot, likeable characters who are fleshed out, a gripping storyline that hooks you and keeps you on the edge of your seat, a love/hate relationship, and fascinating settings. Especially Irving's realm aka the place he calls home.

Cons: I was a little confused near the end when it came to a setting. I discussed it with my boyfriend, and he suggested that I was just misinterpreting what I was reading. That could be true, but I'm still a little unsure about it. I can't really think of any other cons, except that I wish book two were out now so I could read it.

I loved the twists that were thrown in throughout the book. Definitely kept me on my toes, and made me eager to fly through the book and see what direction it was going in. Wish For me is a really, really good book.

If you like magic, romance, suspense, and sarcastic humor & snark, and sexy times, then you should get yourself a copy of the book. Overall, I give it a solid 4 stars.
