The Oblivion Seekers by Paul Bowles, Isabelle Eberhardt

2.0

Eberhardt lived a short but fascinating, nomadic life. Not long before her death she wrote: “No one ever lived more from day to day than I, or was more dependent upon chance. It is the inescapable chain of events that has brought me to this point, rather than I who have caused these things to happen.” She didn’t make decisions; she was impelled to take action. Her life seems haphazard. Freedom and autonomy are important themes in the stories.

Some stories were inspiring, while others didn't speak much to me or even got on my nerves. Altough i keep in mind that she lived in another time (1877 —1904), i was not keen on the patriarchal bulshit ideas she spreads througout some stories.
