This was an incredibly well-constructed book. Having the narration jump back and forth between present day and previous summer trips was a really smart way to slowly show the build up of Alex and Poppy's relationship while also sitting with the current tension between them. The timing of when the timeline would shift was handled really well, and I never felt like we sat in a scene too long or too briefly.
I really enjoyed Alex and Poppy's dynamic. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and mutual pining, and this book delivered on both tropes. Plus, I just loved their banter and how they played off each other. It really felt like they genuinely loved each other - as friends and love interests. It was easy to get invested and root for their relationship.
