This was largely excellent. I had trouble at times parsing English slang and there were a few passages where there was constant dialogue but no speakers named so I had to look back to see who was saying what.

There was one sentence early in the book that stopped me cold to sit and ponder. And there were at least two chapters so superbly written and paced that I was completely gripped.

There were a couple of plot threads for characters that I wasn't sure about in terms of where they ended up or why the motivation was mentioned. Definitely interested in reading the other two in the series.
