I skimmed most of this book because I was waiting to see how it would end. The battle was so long and drawn out plus the basis of the baron’s actions was not really explained. The true nature of Rory’s mum wasn’t ever revealed. Her cousin was annoyingly naive honestly. Their world is too cutthroat and she just takes people at face value? really? I like that Rory was consistent in terms of her characterization throughout the series but she was also just plain dumb sometimes. I feel like there could have been fewer books with more loose ends tied up.
