After finishing On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous I've decided to deduct two stars from my Middlesex review. If you want a story about intergenerational trauma told through a contemporary queer experience, just read that book instead. Middlesex is a poorly disguised freakshow masquerading as empowerment.
