This was truly bizarre.

I  didn’t exactly love it but I also couldn’t put it down.  I didn’t intend to read it when I did but I opened it to preview the first few pages and was immediately sucked in. Reading chapter one and not continuing to chapter two is like eating one potato chip.

Because Eli discovers that he is inexplicably in his wife, Elizabeth’s, body.

Given the extreme circumstances- on top of the body swapping, Elizabeth (in Eli’s body) goes missing- the story and tone are somehow quite calm. I would be FREAKING OUT - obviously. But this is often like, “I wonder if she will order coffee the way I like it or how she usually drinks it.”

But I was very pulled into the illustration of experiencing your spouse’s body in the most intimate way possible. And not just the physical body but understanding how they move through the world and are perceived and treated by others.

If you loved the Freaky Friday movies but could take out the comedy and make it a married couple, give this curious, quick read a try.
