Dubrovsky by Alexander Pushkin
5.0
Vladimir Dubrovsky is a young and carefree cornet. He serves in the army and does not care about the future: he plays cards, "goes into debt" and organises big parties. But one day he receives a letter from his old nanny: Vladimir's father is dying, and their land is being taken away by the rich arrogant Troekurov.
Dubrovsky hurries to the village to help his father, but the fate of a robber and the daughter of his sworn enemy are there waiting for him.
A heartbreaking ending, in the style of Russian classics, where there is no happy ending.
Anyway, a magnificent work by Pushkin, which should be read by every person who loves the classics.
