Despite the fact that it was very exciting and very action packed, I think the book suffered a bit from being the second book. Especially in the middle it started to drag out a bit, with battle after battle, but it didn't feel like we were getting anywhere. That aside, I did enjoy the book. The plan was good, the executing mostly kept me on the edge of my seat, even though it could have been a bit shorter without missing anything, or so it felt for me. I really enjoy the footnotes with Jay Kristoff speaking to his readers from time to time, that made me laugh out loud more than once. The cliffhanger was cruel though... I need book 3, now ;)
