The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of the Donner Party by Daniel James Brown
3.0
Very solid and readable account of the Donner Party tragedy. The book feels incredibly well researched, with no embellishment of the facts. (The writing style is a bit embellished at times but in a way that just makes it more readable, doesn't confuse facts from fiction.) The story is fascinating and far more tragic and complex than I had any idea. Now I'm excited to go visit the Donner Memorial State Park and learn more in person.
