This was my first Abby Jimenez read, and OMG, I loved it! And the craziest part? It was only a short story, yet it’s still my first 5-star read of the year!

On the surface, this is a cute, fun romance set over Valentine’s Day weekend. But what really stood out to me was the darker element woven into the story—it wasn’t just fluff and swoons; it had real depth. And for such a short read, that’s seriously impressive.

The characters were amazing. I loved them so much that I honestly wish this story had been at least 100 pages longer (or, let’s be real, a full-length book—I still would have read it in one sitting). Despite the limited page count, they had so much depth, which isn’t always easy to pull off in a short story.

Another thing I really appreciated was the way it handled stalking. It highlighted not only how terrifying it is but also how frustratingly little the justice system does to protect victims. It’s shocking how many simple laws could make a difference, and I think the book did a great job of shedding light on that.

Overall, this was such a well-written, engaging, and surprisingly powerful short story. If this is what Abby Jimenez can do with just a few pages, I cannot wait to dive into her full-length novels!
