Ptolemy's Gate by Jonathan Stroud

5.0

Loved it. Great pace, loved the story line. Though it was a bit predictable (if *I* could pick things, then no doubt someone would have figured it out by Book 2), it was executed very well (which is what I reckon is most important)... Had me on the edge of my seat! (Alright...I lie, I was in bed) ^^^^I'm glad that Nathaniel and Kitty became more rounded characters... okay, that sounded a bit stuffy, but I was getting exasperated that I couldn't be more than anything but feel detachment or slight flittering of emotion for them. I'm glad that I was less detached from them and could actually *care* what happened to them. *AND* I didn't feel like I had to throttle Nathaniel this time round. Yay! =D^^^^Bartimaeus did not disappoint and was consistent in his gooseness. <3 Bartimaeus! I really liked how irrelevant bits of information are the reasons for why things are, such as the reason why Bartimaeus added as a footnote he doesn't have a mane when taking on the form of a lion.. rather, lioness. hehe Probably that's why I liked his character so much, it's the little things here and there that added to his character and history - and also his footnotes (big fan of footnotes).^^^^Definitely a trilogy I would be reading again... okay, I lie again... maybe the just the last book because it's just so good and almost perfect ^_^
