The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins

5.0

A perfect comfort read, in spite of all the blood and gore and death. It has this clarity and simplicity that all good fairytales have, without any of the lookit-me-I'm-quirky style most of the modern ones come packaged in. Granted, I went in expecting a story about something set -inside- a library, but approaching urban fantasy from the side of the alien and the inhuman also works.

But whatever happened to the dog? And the lion?
