My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
5.0
By the time I finished this book, I was in tears. I didn't expect such an end. It was rather unpredictable, to say the least.
At first, I was thinking of giving this read 4 stars, some chapters had me bored to death, and therefore, it took me longer to finish it.
However, the last 2!! pages made me rethink everything and even look at the whole story from a different perspective. I instantly loved it thanks to the grim ending the author has decided to choose for this story.
In the epilogue the author admitted that when her teenage son finished reading this book, he burst out crying, shut himself in the room and didn't speak to her for a few days. When he calmed down, he asked Jodi Picoult why on earth did she choose this unexpected and sad ending while there were other alternatives.
As for the writing style, I found it wonderful, eloquent and easy to read. Lots of meaningful metaphors without being too verbose.
Great experience overall.
