Amazing. Stunning. Breath-taking.
Holy SHIT did I love this book. The world grew so much! We learned so many new things! Things are starting to fall into place. Questions got answered. Because of that, I have even more questions now. I wasn't sure who to root for the entire time. There is much grey area. I love it. Xiala, Naranpa, Serapio, Okoa, and now the addition of Balam's POV were all just so well done. Each felt different and unique. The violence and gore and magic were all there. Everything I loved from the first book got built upon.
Most 2nd books in a trilogy suffer a sophomore slump, but this one did not. Very few authors can do that and Roanhorse can. I literally cannot wait until the next crumb of information on book #3.
