The writing wasn't bad per se, I just couldn't get into the story because it was written in micro-chapters that switched point in time and characters within two minutes of the chapter starting. Also not in the mood to read the reason behind a man's midlife crisis using "the fate of the Galaxy" as an excuse to bail on your kid because you're feeling inadequate as a parent. I'm sure this was redeemed in the end, but I couldn't handle the attention span whiplash required to get there. I'm mostly bummed because I love all the characters in the story and really wanted to read more about L3.
