Christmas at Harrington's by Melody Carlson

The writing was so simplistic that I would have believed this were a children's novel if it had been marketed that way. The events of the story were solved without much of the drama that I'd expect from real life. I was happy for awhile that it wasn't being ruined with an implausible love story, but then in the last chapter or so it got snuck in. It was ludicrous and made the whole thing end on kind of a downer.
