Read around the world ... WITHOUT reading literary fiction or non-fiction! Genre fiction includes mystery, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and romance. Although these genres are widely popular, authors from many countries, especially African, Central and West Asian, and South American countries, can find it difficult to find publishers for genre fiction novels, and they are much less frequently translated into English.

For this challenge, a book counts as "from" a particular country if the author was born and lived in that country for at least 10 years. Ideally, for the spirit of the challenge, the author wrote the book while living in that country, and is not a member of a colonizing community.
