Overview
Learn Italian by reading graded books and stories
From levels A2 to C2, based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). 👇👇👇
Bonus prompts
A few supporting prompts are interspersed as bonuses (optional) for a complete language learning experience. I've sorted them in the order I would complete them, but feel free to work through the list however you like—skip a prompt, read more than one book per level, or mix things up. You do you! 💅
Reading strategies
Give yourself time to soak in what you're reading, but try to resist the urge to look up every single word, or you'll break the rhythm, and it'll get boring fast. Instead, try this approach:
1️⃣ Pause to reflect on new words, grammar structures, spelling and sentence patterns.
2️⃣ Highlight words or expressions you want to go revisit later.
3️⃣ Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words based on context before reaching for a dictionary.
4️⃣ Look things up only when you're completely lost and can't follow the story at all.

Boost your learning
Pair this challenge with other activities for even faster progress. Here are a few ideas for inspo:
🎧 Listen to Italian podcasts to reinforce pronunciation and comprehension. If you don't know where to start, try ones with slow news (10-15 minute episodes).
📱 Use a language-learning app to consolidate common expressions and phrases.
🃏 Create Anki flashcards for new words and review them regularly.
✍️ Try writing summaries of what you read to improve retention and writing skills.
🎬 Watch Italian films or series with subtitles to connect spoken and written language.
🧠 Talk to yourself in your head in Italian throughout the day. It’s a great way to get used to thinking in the language.
The more ways you engage with the language, the faster you'll improve.
