It's done. It's over. It's very bittersweet. But of course the Club Sin series had to go out with a bang. :)
Dmitri has poured his heart and soul into Club Sin. He will do everything he can to keep it going. But when someone from the past threatens to destroy it, he goes to great lengths to protect his friends, even if it means doing something drastic.
This series has come full circle. It started with Dmitri and Presley and it ends with them. It wasn't without a fair amount of drama, a bit of emotion, and a nice dose of steam. Happy reader over here.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Although Dmitri and Presley seemed to have gotten a happy ending in CLAIMED, they are now struggling with their relationship in MINE. When things get tough Dmitri doesn't exactly come through for Presley and she, to her credit, doesn't simply accept his distance. Presley has come a long way in her self-confidence. She didn't back down and allow Dmitiri to relegate her to the sidelines when a blackmailer threatens the club and he turns his focus away from her. Presley looks out for herself by letting Dmitri know that his treatment of her won't be tolerated and she won't be wishfully waiting for him to return to her after being mistreated.
The story unfolds steadily and with a few twists. I enjoyed the fact that we get to go back and see a couple who still has issues to work out even after they seemed to have walked hand in hand into the sunset. It was nice to see a couple needing to continue working on their relationship later on down the line. As usual, there is plenty of steaminess in MINE as well as an introduction to characters that will show up in the next series that Kennedy is setting up. I have really enjoyed this series. Kennedy manages to mix genuine feeling romance with kink very well. Each couple manages to work through difficulties and come out better in the end.
MINE is a very nice ending to the CLUB SIN series. All of the books have been enjoyable and coming full circle back to Dmitri and Presely is a great way to close out the series.

Mine is the seventh story in the Club Sin series, and this might be one of the reasons why I didn't enjoy it all that much - not having read the other books in the series. However, I also found Presley to be very insecure and quite naïve, and Dmitri didn't really seem all that dominant to me.
I do kind of wish I had read the other Club Sin novels before I got to Mine, but at the same time, I really wanted to read this! A short, sexy romp was what I was looking for, and I didn't really get that, though. There is a lot going on in Mine, and very little of it has to do with what is happening at Club Sin, or even in Dmitri and Presley's bedroom. After two years living the BDSM lifestyle, I found some of Presley's reactions to be quite strange, especially because she didn't really trust Dmitri 100%.
Dmitri was very upset over a security leak at the club, with photos of several members having been taken without any of them realizing it. Wanting to take every necessary step in order to take care of that problem, as well as his job as the president of Ace casino, he wasn't really present for Presley. Which to me seemed quite natural, really. Even a married couple know that sometimes, the job has to be done, and in order to do so efficiently there might be less coddling and taking care of personal feelings for a little while. Presley only managed for two days before she decided it was too much, that she needed more respect and love, and so she left while Dmitri was away on business. So on the one hand, she wanted him to take care of her, to be the submissive who needed her dominant at every turn, on the other, she wanted to be treated as a partner, but she didn't really do much to show that she could be that for him.
The writing in Mine is well done, and I am sure that fans of the series will find this more enjoyable than I did. The past tense in third person perspective worked well, as it showed both Presley's and Dmitri's inner thoughts. And I know I will be reading more of Kennedy's stories in the future, as I think this one was a case of it's not the book; it's me.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. People who visited Las Vegas were typically on the hunt for a wild weekend getaway. Others wanted to spend their nights in a casino. For Dmitri Pratt, Vegas was his home. He enjoyed what Vegas could offer those who visited the city, but he preferred saying, What happens in Club Sin stays in Club Sin.
He knew this situation couldn't wait, and he hastily reminded himself that his members counted on him to make this right. Shoving away his selfish needs to feel better than he did now, he fastened the other cufflink to his shirt, taking in Ace's Presidential Suite. This review was originally posted on (un)Conventional Bookviews
